A Good Pick
One of my favourite hikes I ever did was in Slovenia, near Bohinjska in the North-West.
It was in summer, so the temperature was pleasant. And I figured it would be fun to walk into Italy over a couple of days.
I made sure to stock up well on food beforehand. And lollies too (I reckon you can never have too many lollies on hand as a t1der).
Food was mainly protein and fat, plus some fruit. I never got too hungry, but sure got thirsty. And footsore.
Fun!
Trouser pockets are OK for carrying lollies.
Not so great for most food, which gets squashed.
Backpacks are great for carrying a bunch of t1d stuff.
I use a small good-quality sports-type backpack I was given years ago.
Coat pockets are good too.
If I’m carrying insulin in the coat, I put something (like a wallet) between the insulin and my body heat.
