Chores
A Longer List than Before
I have an older car, which needs more stuff done to keep it running than the latest model. It means I can get around places, which is handy.
I’ve always been a bit slack about brushing my teeth too. But I know it’ll make my teeth last longer than otherwise.
Maintenance chores are boring things to do, but it’s just part of the routine.
My t1d Chore List
After getting t1d, my chore list grew several more lines. Now it includes stuff like :
- changing needles
- checking BGL
- checking food I eat
- packing lollies + fruit before I leave the house
Not very exciting, those t1d chores.
But it all helps things run more smoothly for doing more interesting things. It may be quicker not to take lollies with me, but it would be awful to run out and be in an emergency.
It would be much quicker not to brush my teeth, change clothes, prepare meals, etc. I suppose it might be fun to walk around like that (for me, not for others).
My t1d chore list (checking, treating, eating, carrying more food, etc.) is something I just try to see as part of the chores, rather than optional extras. It means I can act on autopilot without thinking/worrying so much.
