Pass the ‘Sugar’ Please

Table sugar, or sucrose, is usually what recipes mean when they use a plain old word like ‘sugar’.

Sucrose is actually a half/half combo of 2 types of sugar:

  • Fructose
  • Glucose

It’s very important to know there’s a difference for a t1der. Why? Because:

Fructose is   S   L   O   W   at raising BGL and Glucose is FAST!

Other Types

There’s Lactose and Galactose from Dairy.

Maltose is another type.

The Tastiest Facts

Aside from the tastiness of sugars, as a t1der it’s handy to know:

  • What sugary sweets are best for raising BGL quickly
  • How sugars in different things will behave when I eat them
