I remember being very confused when I went jogging, about 4 years after being diagnosed with t1d.
Sports or exercise I’d done before that made my BGL drop. Every time.
But now, I was going for a jog in the morning and my BGL went UP. Every time. It was easy to notice as it was my only exercise, and I did it 3 times a week. Eventually, I worked out the insulin to stop the rise.
Other sports can raise my BGL:
Intense competitive sports
Gym weights
Hormones (like insulin & adrenaline) are small & tricky. But at least I now know about the potential for BGL to rise from sports.
