Base Drips

Steady Dripping

Drip... drip... drip... '(Phew) just water'

Memorising Stuff

Starting the day right with a "healthy" breakfast

I find it’s easier to remember a word if I get a picture in my mind.

Bolus is a dose of insulin at mealtime.

An odd word, you say? I agree.

Easier to remember the word ‘bowl’.

Is it useful to know this word? I say the more words the merrier.

What – another word? Just one more, I promise.

Basal is the steady background insulin. The liver ‘drips’ glucose (glucose is very important for the brain, among other things), so the body always needs insulin in the system, not just for meals.

Easier to remember the word ‘base’ – basal is a steady base of insulin.
