There are times when it’s a good idea to not stop.
For example, when being chased by sandworms. This must commonly happen in desert countries.
But it’s often a good idea to stop for a rest.
On and Off
It’s tiring to be ON all the time. No-one can sprint for mile after mile except Ethiopians.
SO, during the week, I pay more attention to my t1d numbers. I write more in my record book, eat healthier, etc.
In weekends, I take it easier (not easy). Not exactly ‘OFF’, but ‘less ON’.
I still pay attention to t1d. But it’s like a stroll, not a sprint.
Then I find I have the energy to focus properly during the week.
A Regular Holiday
Some people’s weekends sound more exhausting than the weekdays.
The idea of taking a regular rest day during the week is an ancient one, and very sensible too.
By focusing more on t1d during the week, and less during the weekends, it’s a mini-holiday I look forward to each weekend. I reckon I actually get better BGL results overall too.
Running Smartly
Sprinting + resting (focusing more on t1d during the week; less on the weekends) fits me much better than focusing hard all the time.
At least 1 day a week’s rest is an ancient (still-practised today) sensible tradition.
